The fall of two teams and the birth of ONE....

The rivalry between the two equally talented teams (Spy ware and NS)has finally come to an end. They will no longer join the league due to lack of players .The team leaders come up with the solution to drop the teams and be united as one team and to be focus on the greater goal which is winning the crown and to promote camaraderie rather than competition between our office mates.

The team will be consisting of players from players from both shifts. Here's the tentative Line Up: (Majar, Elton, Mike Cardona, Ivan"Bong Hawkins" Roda, Erwin "Du" Daclan, Mic Wales, Agent Ale, Arjay,Allan "the Money Man" Villar, Percival, Jam, Kenneth Palabrica, Dennis Ruiz, Dennis Casa,Kurt,Ronald, Natz, Mykell "Choi" Villanueva and Me.

The Team will be doing some tune up games against some of the most notorious and well known team from the League. Will keep you update for the Schedule of Events.

Spyware Diary - Honorable Loss

Last Saturday, We played a do or die match against the Saint Peter College of Toril. Most of us is ready to play and win but due to fatigue factor we fail to win and fill the last spot for the semi-final games.

During the first quarter we were able to dictate the tempo of the game with the help of Jam's Hot Hands and Kenneth's power move towards the basket. We end the quarter strong with a 5 point lead.

The second quarter was a see saw battle. There were a couple deadlocks that ended with a tie ball game in the end of the 2nd period.

During the second half we were careless and they were able to converted points from the reckless plays and lack of box out during the free throws. They dominate the rebound department and take over the game.

We lost the game but we were able to survive and loss some unwanted fats..hehhee

It is really honorable to loss fats in a natural and healthy way..

1st Round:Blue/Green Beatdown (2-1)

1st Game:
Turn 1 Slippery Bogle and turn 3 Favor of the Overbeing attached to Slippery Bogle plus one mimic to finish the game by turn 6 .. wow its fast ..

2nd Game:
Another Turn 1 Slippery Bogle and another early beatdown and down to 1 on turn 10 ..a top draw Wrath of God.. and the soldies rise with Elspeth 2nd ability..

3rd Game:
It was an early control *rune halo named all the possible creature and the flying vigilance soldier ( Mobilization and Elspeth 2nd ability) attacks each turn ..

2nd Round Faeries 0-2

1st Game: controlled the faeries with Story Circle (protection from Black)but he was able to counter the two wrath of gods .. and in turn 15 he was able to bounce the Story Circle .. GG ..

2nd Game: beatdown faeries .. huhuhuhuhuh :( 3 bitter blossom in play and prepared 2 counters if wrath of god comes .. nice game .. huhuhuh

3rd Round: Semi Bant (2-0)

1st Game: @ turn 4 Wilt-Leaf Liege and other creature starts to attack but on turn five got a Story Circle (protection from Green) and stop the beat down and clear the board with a wrath of god by turn six .. the mobilization soldier strikes back .. :D

2nd game: got 3 Oblivion / 1 wrath and 3 lands on the opening hand ..and was able to cast Elspeth on turn 5 nice control game and was able to finish the game early with the flying soldiers

4th Round: Naya (1-1-1)

1st game: its a defensive control game.. was able to name the possible threats with rune halos and cast a protection from green Story Circle during the 5th turn but wasn't able to get another wrath of god during the late game that leaves me open for burn spells .. :D eheheh

2nd game: was able WoG his creatures and cast two Kitchen Finks and an Elspeth on turn 7 with any creature on the other board was able to get an early win..

3rd game: not enough time .. and consider the 3rd game as draw.. :D

My Price: 1 - Deck Box, 1 random FNM card, 1 Sprouting Thrinax (alternate art)

If they don't reproduce then the circle of life will be in balance .. In short we don't have enough food to sustain the energy we need to do our daily task and to protect our ecosystem.

I was doing a research on the different Keyword Research Tool and found out that no matter how advance the software or tool ...it will always have its limitation. Limitation that we need to be aware for us to avoid misjudgment and miscalculation in optimizing our websites.

The data presented (search volume and etc) are based on the past records. Therefore it will not give you guarantee that the certain keyword will still work in the near future.
The records will not show the researcher the actual traffic the specific keyword can generate since the traffic will depend on the SEO and PPC optimization, competition and your marketing strategy is.
The tool cannot give you the stats on how profitable your keyword is on how many customers are willing to buy your product or subscribe to your services.
The data is only based on the GOOGLE's market some of the products and services will have better conversion in the other competitors.

Point Guards are Hard Court Generals .. They are the one who calls for the plays and the person who creates opportunity for his teammate to score in a ball game.

Here are some responsibilities of a point guard in and off the court.

Keep constant pressure on a passer or dribbler forcing them off of their desired path of attack.
Talk constantly on defense helping their teammates to recognize potentially dangerous points of attack by their opponent. They keep their focus throughout the course of a game, and pay attention to details at nearly all times.
Advance the ball up the court from the defensive three point line to the attacking three point line with 2-3 dribbles while under control, and they always pass ahead when a teammate is open down the court who either has an open shot, or can create a numbers advantage from which the retreating defense cannot recover .
Able to play excellent defense and create shots for himself in the halfcourt offense. He needs to be a weapon from long range as well. This is true because the better a shooting guard can shoot from behind the three point line, the more it forces defenses to step farther out on the court to guard him. This in turn allows the lane to be open to both penetration, and for the post players.
Get their teams prepared psychologically for practice and for games. They know which players need to be provoked to pick up intensity or concentration and which ones are excitable and need to be calmed.
On the fast break they constantly find a way to get open on the outlet pass as far up the court as possible.
Able to be a spot-up shooter—to be able to catch and shoot—as well as be able to create his own shot off the dribble.
The shooting guard is often called upon to get the team a quality shot when their offense has broken down. In other words, when a play has not worked, or the opposing team's defense has thrown a team out of sync, the shooting guard must step up and be able to create something out of nothing.
Know how to get their best scorers the ball on a consistent basis, but are always on the lookout for how to create high percentage scoring opportunities for offensive teammates in a lesser role. They are able to keep all of their teammates involved offensively which makes the attacking team more difficult to guard.
Know their own team´s optimal tempo for both offense, defense, and in transition. They know when to speed the tempo up or slow it down.
Always have their head up and maintain full court vision at all times. They do not see one opponent or blocks of 2 or 3, they see all 10 players on the court, and understand the relationship of each by positioning.
Pay attention to situational advantages such as on the free throw line, during jump balls, or in the flow of the game. For example, when an attacking team has a penetrating guard with no one getting back for defensive balance, they know to attack hard and quick on the counter fast break.
Quickly and clearly communicate play calls or changes both in the open court and on dead ball situations. They also have the ability to quickly organize a team after an offensive pattern breakdown.
Seldom turn the ball over due to pressure, and when they deliver a pass to a teammate it is to a point closest to the best position from which their teammate can score. Not occasionally, but virtually every single time.
Understand completely a coach´s (and therefore the team´s) playing philosophy from top to bottom and every ounce of energy and effort is put forth to execute that philosophy. I have seen good guards who are great physically who constantly break out of the team philosophy creating confusion over the team´s offensive and defensive goals. Great guards understand you cannot win if all the oarsmen are not rowing in the same direction.
Rarely get caught out of position in defensive transition and the best have the ability to buy time, and space to force the defense into a low percentage shot in the open court even with a superior numbers advantage. They may not stop the break every time, but if they stuff it half the time, they will save you 8 or 10 free points a game.
Can stop dribble penetration on defense
Able to dribble without thinking about dribbling or about the opponent who is guarding you. This will free you to see the court, ready to pass to a teammate who is open.

Eversun Cup Conference 2 Day 1 : Spywares VS Assumption Broken Arrows

It was the first game of the conference and faced the formidable Broken Arrows.. We lost 3 of the encounters but with the help of new team addition Center Nat's we were able to stop and limit their transition points .. and dictate the game to a slow and set up tempo ..and escape a 15 point lead at the end of the first quarter ..

During the two succeeding quarter it was a see saw battle between the two teams but were able to get an 8-0 run during last few minutes of the 3rd quarter.. and were able to maintain the lead until the buzzer sounded.

We fortunately got our first win against the Broken Arrows.. hehehe "Chamba" .. keep it up SPYWARE .. and may the force be with you ...

After the game we were able to get a chance to play with our next opponent ... but sad to say we lost the game .. the good thing is that its only an exhibition game .. :)

Last Sunday, our local Magic The Gathering shop owner announced Sunday as League Play day --

here the guidelines of the League Tournament:

1. League Play – After players complete a Magic Match he/she receives one “tick-mark” by his/her name for completing the match and the match winner receives an additional “tick-mark”. After a player earns fifteen “tick-marks” he/she will be rewarded with one promo card. More league rules below.

2. Planeswalkers Achievement – After a player accomplishes seven achievements he/she will be rewarded with one promo card. Achievement rules below.

LEAGUE PLAY
Date: Sundays (Nov-Dec)
Time: 1PM-5PM
Format: Standard
Entrance Fee: P50 (good for the whole league tournament)

DETAILS:
*Not a Sanctioned Magic Tournament
*You can play any players who are also registered for league play anytime on Sundays.
*Players should not play the same opponent in consecutive matches on the same day.
*Both players report league match results to the League Facilitator after matches have been completed.
*The facilitator gives both players one “tick-mark” by his/her name for completing the match and the match winner receives an additional “tick-mark”.
*After a player has earned 15 “tick-marks” he/she will received a Woolly Thoctar promo card (while supplies last).
*After a player has earned 28 “tick-marks” he/she will receive another promo card (while supplies last).
*Your “tick-marks” or points will be carried over to the next league play.

*This style of league play is less competitive, and is more flexible than tournament play.

Cory Chisel is a singer-song writer from metropolis of Appleton, WI. He and The Wandering Sons, have an EP entitled Cabin Ghosts. The EP was recorded live in his family's cabin and at a live show.

It's quite obvious from the opening bars that Chisel spent a great deal of his childhood crawling around in his father's Bruce Springsteen collection. His songs reflect the blue collar Americana of The Boss, Mellancamp, Petty, and other gritty bluesy rockers.

The tracks have a tremendous warmth and comfort to them. In fact, some song will feel instantly familiar, like an old friend you had forgotten.

Chisel's style has an intensity to them, even though his singing and playing style are relatively laid back.

Cabin Ghosts is a tremendous start. It will be interesting to see whether Chisel can sustain this level of quality over the course of a full length album.

There are added features like Team Practice : You can now have a team practice .. a time to practice team plays and moves and to be familiarize with the plays.

The Fringe: TV Series

The Fringe is all about ...Psychokinesis, teleportation, Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Precognition, Dark Matter and other forces beyond our imagination..

Interesting but familiar .. It's like the new version of X Files .. This time with better camera effects.

I have only watched the first episode (The Fringe : Pilot) .In my own opinion this series has a potential to last for more than two seasons.. If you love to watch horror and sci fi movies .. then i would suggest you to watch the series and be astound of the story as it unfolds the existence of the unknown force in the world that we live in .

Wolverine and the X-Men 2008: TV Series

The TV series start with a flash back memory of Wolverine .. When he was planning to move out from the Xmen and few moments later Mansion Explodes.. due to the attack Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey are missing. After the incident the X-men disband and Magneto created a new place for mutants .. and those who still staying in the Human world are captured by the MRD (Mutant Response Division).. and so the new story begins ..

So far there are 4 episodes released .. I'm looking forward to watch the 2nd episode this weekend ..

Spyware: To play or not to play

Tomorrow is a holiday ... Spyware team is planning to practice for the upcoming semifinal match against the top seed Night Shift Team .. It's going to be a do or die game for the spyware since the NS will only need one win to eliminate us ..

Our team captain Percival initiate and try to enforce a one day practice for plays and strategy to implement during the semifinal game .. we are hoping to find answers to the night shifts back court fast break plays and minimize turn overs .. They are planning to have one day practice tomorrow morning since it's a holiday but my problem is that I don't have enough rest since i will be working 10 pm to 7 am and the practice will be on 8 am tomorrow ..

To attend the practice:

Pros:

I will be able to catch with the team plays and strategies
It will be a good health exercise

Cons:

Not enough sleep
Still on the healing process of my illness (allergy , cough and colds)

what will be my decision ? to play or not play ... hmm

Shards of Alara - Pre Release Tournament

Last Sunday, I was able to join the Pre release Tournament : Shards of Alara. The event was the most successful Mtg Event in Davao ever :) with 33 registered players. Shards was a little bit hard in constructing a deck since some of the cards require 3 colors mana.. we need to balance our deck and enough mana fixers in order for the deck to work .. It took me more than the time aloted to construct my deck.. Thanks to my cousin .. for helping me re evaluate my deck .. :)

Round1

1st Game

I chose to draw first and got 1 Wild nacalt in hand ,1 lush growth, 2 forest, 1 mountain, 1 artifact that produces 3 color mana 2 rip clan crasher ... First turn: I played a forest and cast Wild nacalt and the opponent played his first land, Second Turn : I played another forest and cast lush growth to make the Wild nacalt 3/3 and swing it .. In my opponent 's turn .. he played another land .. 3rd Turn: I was able to cast 1 rip clan crasher and continue attacking while he got no creatures.. and on 4th turn : another rip clan is on board and he still got no creatures in play .. i was able to keep on waving without any problem .. 2nd Game: My Opponent chose to Play first and still lucky enough to get another Nacalt but with 2 Naya Charm ... got really lucky ... during the first round and finish it early by tapping all his creatures in my last wave that gave me the win in the first round

Standing 1-0

Second Round: Battle of the Long Hairs Vs Short Hairs

When we role the dice .. for who comes first the dice hit my fingers and make it in favor to my opponent .. This round was really the most difficult because i tried to take control of board with just an unblockble creature .. got lucky he dont have any burn spell during the first game .. and during the second game he was able to put his saproling maker mage .. into board as early as turn 3 and was able to produce enough sapro to finish to force a game 3 ... in game 3 I was able to damage him early and finish the game with the cycling burn spell :)

3rd game: battle of the undefeated

Game 1 Got a an early rally attacks and trim down his life to 10 by end of turn 5 .. but he was able to make a come back .. in the last turn he was down to 7 and in hand got a cycling card that can deal as much as 6 damage to target creature or player and i was hoping he will not block my 2/2 first strike creature ... but he decided to block it and .. he swings the big creature.. In game 2 he started to play his key creatures during the first 4 turns and freely swing attacks for 3 turns .. but was able recover to comeback but his Big Creature is back and freely casted it .. I tried to destroy it during the 7th turn but he got some instants to increase its life.. on board and still finishes me with two swings of his Feral hydra.:(

Standing 2-1

4th Match: Battle of the Titans - Vs Peter Ang

Game 1 ended fast with the lush growth and Wild nacalt combo and the 2 rip clan crasher during turn 4 .. it was a fast game indeed ... Game2: I wasn't able to get enough lands to cast some of my vanilla creatures .. :) he waves all his small but terrible creatures and forces a game 3: A lesson learned ... (" Greed will imprison as all" - Rush Hour 1) I fetch a land the I rarely needed without thinking that i needed a forest card to fix all the problem .. Ouch .. another heartbreaking lost...

2-2 I finished 16th overall .:) better luck next time ..

It will be a matter of hours from now .. the new set (Shards of Alara) will be introduce and Pre Release Tournaments will be launch by the different organizers.

What's next ? Still don't know ... when Tarmogofys, Damnation and Greater Gargis will rotate out in the Standard Scene. . what will happen to their respective decks ... huhuhu ouch .. Im thinking its a new era and new decks will rise .. a new type of control deck like Grave games, Lorwyn tribal (Elf, Kithkins, Faeries) and the new fav Demigod / RDW.

New Deck = New Investment = Money = Work hheehehe

Card Visual Spoilers of Shards are now posted in the different MTG related sites .. from Mythic rares, Rares, Uncommons down to the commons.. I find some of the cards interesting like the new red/green plainswalker .. I think it's good for both limited and constructed.

At last .. the long awaited Pre release tournament of year

The Magic Fanatics are now saving money for the event .. selling their old decks and some valuable pieces of their old deck just to join the main event of the year .. If you are playing the game then you know it's the most enjoyable tournament of the year .. since its a new set , new additional rules (unearth, devour and more updates and changes) and lastly a bigger crowd .. Most casual magic player likes to play the sealed format during the first expansion of the set .. because it's the base set .. base set consist of spells that you need in forming a deck in the succeeding expansions... a good example is the lorwyn .. the set includes (cryptic and profane command, Garruk, Thoughsize and the power commons like mulldrifter.. ) ...

Davao Tournament schedule:

Location: Card Haven - BO Obrero
Date: September 28, 2008 *Sunday
Time: 10:00 am Registration
Format: Sealed

After the registration .. - every registrant will be given 1 tournament pack and 3 booster packs and its going to be his /her card pool..
- He/ She will be given around 45 mins to 30 mins to construct at least a minimum of 40 card deck
- every player must check all the cards to the checklist .. to ensure he/she will be using .. the exact card during the span of the tournament.

Sportless weekendzzz

Dust started it all..

We often see campaign posters against drugs and courts for sports ... except for the prince .. with a saying .. Say no to Drugs and Yes to sports ..

Last Friday, Our family doctor adviced me not to play sports for 8 days wow and take a rest .. as often as possible before going to work with tons of bawal food .. no seafood, no egg, no chicken, no gulay.. hu3x .. what a weekend it was and I am sure its gonna be the same activities to do for the next weekend ..

So next weekend I am going to call it Operation: Sportless Weekend

Must to do:

1. Rest. rest rest
2. No sport activities
3. Prevent the bawal foods
4. No outdoor activities

Plan activities :

1. Movie Marathon
2. PS2 / Xbox Mania
3. Magic The Gathering .. Pre release tournament Shard of Alara < it's not yet considered as sport .. plus it's an indoor game .. :) so i think i don't have problem with it :)

How effective the Spyware Ultimate Plan was?

During the game time ... the viewers were able to see how the Spyware stop the opponent from scoring and dictate the game phase.. With the help of the veteran player Percy we were able to asses and create strategy to beat the formidable Trojan team.

The First Half:
It was a see saw scoring battle between the two teams.. but thanks to the playing coach he was able to identify the important factors and individuals to watch .. and luckily were able to defend them properly... that give us a large lead as the first half ends.

The Second Half:
We started the second half with amazing shots . (put it in the highlight reel) but during the 3 min mark we had some problems in crossing the ball to the half court with their suffocating full press defense and boom .. they were able to tie the score that lead us to an extension period...

Overtime Period:
Deadlock - Again back to the see saw scoring battle but the difference was ... it's now all about free throws since the two teams are now in the penalty .. some shots were missed == with a minute remaining Kurt Damada breakaway from the defense and put a dagger with a backbone breaking 3 point shot that gave us a comfortable lead and were able to get the first win in the tournament.

Spywares Ultimate Game Plan !!!

Spywares are down to 0-2 win loss record .. will tonight be their lucky night? .. After the disappointing game against the night shift The team captain Allan "the Money Man" Villar recorded the games of the next opponent .. he observed their key plays and formulated an ultimate counter play.. He tried to organize the team yesterday for the role each player will play while in the court and how his new strategy work against the next opponent .

How to Combat Sleepiness when your at work

Sleepiness = low production / low quality of service = opportunity loss / low evaluation ratings = less earnings / unemployment

That's why we need to fight sleepiness at work ..

Enough sleep - every person needs to have enough sleep 7-8 hours a day in order for their brains to function well. Tip: Don't go to bed hungry ..
Balance Diet- We need to have a balance diet since we need to ... A balanced diet must contain carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral salts and fibre. It must contain these things in the correct proportions.
Exercise - It plays a vital part since it helps our bodies transition between the phases of sleep more regularly and more smoothly.
Coffee -I think it is important to take coffee breakssss when you feel sleepy .. its one of the best counter measure in combating sleepiness ... CCA Certified Coffee Addict..
Napping - Napping during break time is also a way of fighting sleepiness @ work ..

4 pm - its Shot clock time , order, last two .. since i'll be listing our output in a small notebook summary and reports others called it as notebook for the list of foods and others called it a Last two notebook for betting.. hehehe

5 pm to 6 pm - It's overtime pero without pay ha .. hehehe time for file uploading
